Það er gaman að vera hér í Valdivia í Chile og undirbúa póstkortasýninguna "Wish you were here" sem opnar á morgun þriðjudag. Eftir langt ferðalag þvert yfir veröldina eiginlega er tekið á móti manni hér eins og höfðingja. Umhverfið er sannarlega framandi og landslagið hér á þessu svæði er tilkomumikið, en elskusemi fólksins sem tekur hér á móti manni er ómótstæðileg.

It is a wonderful surprice to be here in Valdivia Chile for our show Wish you were here, after a long journey to the other end of the world(kind of) and experience an extremely warm welcome. Galeria Barrios Bajos is run by two women artists that have built this dream up in the city of Valdivia, in an area that is in progress and gets more attention with the locals, people from the university and artists. The city has some great architecture gems but also other areas that are not so interesting.

| Skemmtilegir gluggapóstar |
Gallerí Barrios Bajos er rekið af tveimur ungum konum sem hafa byggt það upp af miklum metnaði í hverfi sem er í uppbyggingu. Galleríið og kaffihús sem þær reka samhliða njóta vaxandi vinsælda hjá háskólafólki og listamönnum. Í borginni er skemmtilegur arkitektúr og öðruvísi byggingar innan um sem gaman er að skoða og mikil uppbygging í gangi. Matur og drykkur hér er með því besta sem ég hef bragðað og hver dagur nýtt ævintýri. Í dag byrjum við Heike að setja upp sýninguna, 600 póstkort sem bíða þess að komast upp á vegg þó enn hafi ekki öll skilað sér.....

Galeria Barrios Bajos is a real gem, run by two women artists that have rebuilt an old house from 1918 and opened a Gallery and a café, and in the backyard a double home where they live with their family. The food and drinks in this area is beyond anything I have ever tasted and the café has great examples of that. Today we will start installing our show, 600 postcards wait to be hang though not all of the ones we sent are here....yet.
